UA+Ed Grant in Action: Greensview Inclusive Playground Addition
UA+Ed was pleased to partner with the Greensview PTO to help fund an inclusive playground addition project which was completed this spring. The new addition offers a 360 degree slide, multiple climbing handles & bars, textured surfaces and a low profile accessible spinner. Such structures create easier access for students with disabilities, mobility and sensory needs. Sensory-rich elements and ground level play help ensure safe and meaningful participation. Twenty-five years ago, a simple act of gratitude at Tremont Elementary School turned into something far more lasting than anyone could have imagined. Tremont parent Edith Pattou, wanted to create a meaningful end-of-year gift for her daughter’s Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Spitzer.
