a FUNdraiser with a big HEART
UPPER ARLINGTON, OHIO, August, 11, 2023 — Nearly 2,000 teachers and staff throughout the school district will be seen this school year wearing shirts with the message: Start With Heart. The shirts, a gift from the Upper Arlington Education Foundation, and UA Schools are a reminder that our educators, administrators, and classified staff are an awesome team with a shared focus - students.
Students are at the heart of the Upper Arlington Education Foundation's mission to provide meaningful opportunities for each and every student. Thanks to the generosity of our community members, businesses, alumni and families, UA+Ed gave over $150,000 in grants, scholarships and awards in 2022.
Our annual FUNdraiser, the Golden Bear Bash will take place the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, September 3rd from 6 - 10 pm at the Amelita Mirolo Barn. We invite you to become a sponsor and join us for an evening of delicious food from your favorite UA restaurants and caterers, live music from Vandelay Industries, great auction items and more.
Space is limited. General admission tickets will go on sale for $100 (the first day of school), Wednesday, August 16th if available. Why wait - become a sponsor today. A Bronze bear sponsorship ($300) comes with two Bash tickets. A Silver Bear sponsorship ($500) includes two Bash tickets AND a giant UA Golf Umbrella (just in case).
History & Location
Since 2007 the Upper Arlington Education Foundation's beloved Golden Bear Bash has brought the community together to celebrate and raise funds to support the education and wellbeing of students. In 2013, the event moved to its “home” at the Tremont Center where merchants welcomed the UA+Ed to throw a party in their parking lot for 1,250+ guests.
In response to COVID-19, the Bash was held virtUAlly in 2020 with sponsorships, an online auction and the opportunity to purchase a “Bash in a Box” to celebrate at home. “Our community “came together” in spite of the pandemic to support our mission and had fun in a safe way.”
The 15th annual Bash was a smaller, in-person celebration at the Amelita Mirolo Barn made possible thanks to Steve Shoney and the city council who approved an ordinance to allow UA+Ed to host the Bash on city property. This year, in 2023, we will return to the Barn for the third year and our 17th annual Golden Bear Bash.
Sponsorships begin at $100 and are 100% tax deductible. The event includes a silent and live auction and everyone can bid thanks to our mobile platform.
The Upper Arlington Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides funding and support to the Upper Arlington School District.
